Startup Wind Step by Step Registration

Step 1

Open this 'StartupWind' to create an account or login using your existing account. For School Name use "UC San Diego" and select Entrepreneur.


This is custom signup/login page for the  'Business Plan Challenge' group. If you are creating an account for the first time you will be automatically added to the group. If you have an existing StartupWind account,  you will have to request to join the group. Keep in mind that every time you login, you need use this hyperlink. Otherwise you will not be able to access the group.

If you have competed in the Elevator Pitch Competition this year and have step up an idea on Startup Wind, skip to step 6.

Step 2

For those creating a new account, you will have a step by step walkthrough process to get set up. Feel free to follow other business plans, ideas, and people. Make sure to select your industry with United States as the location. Also, please add your role, your LinkedIn profile URL, and select your functional expertise with years in the industry. Now you are done with the StartupWind walkthrough

Step 3

Next you will be on your dashboard and you will hover over the “Create New Idea” button on the left hand side under competition stats and select 'Idea'. Upload your idea logo, and fill in all of the sections, and select the group name from the dropdown menu at the bottom of the page before clicking 'Let's Go!'. You are only eligible if you fill in all of the sections.

Step 4

Invite ALL of your team members to create an account in StartupWind by going back on your dashboard and selecting 'Invite Friends'.  They will receive an email requiring them to login or sign up in order to accept your invite. Under your Idea profile, you can click on the “Team” icon and followed by “Invite Team Members" to  find/add your team members (note they must have already created an account to be able to find them). They may now contribute to your idea profile.

Next, upload your pitch deck to your idea profile under 'presentation'. Then,“Lean Model Canvas” as your  'Canvas Type' and fill out ALL the canvas sections..
If you have created an idea under the ‘Elevator Pitch Competition’  group, you have the option to move your idea to this ‘Business Plan Challenge 2018’ group. You can move your idea by editing your idea and selecting “Business Plan Challenge 2018” group. Make sure to add your Pitch Deck under the presentation section.


Optional: If you want to submit your executive summary please upload it under the “upload documents” icon on the left hand cornor.  Please note that executive summary application deadline is May 1st, while the rest of the idea profile need to be completed by the April 15th.
